Welcome to the web site of Luton Scouts.Scouting in Luton is provided by over 20 Groups. These Groups are organised into three Districts broadly covering the North, East and South/West parts of the town. (see the directory page for a complete list and the areas covered). Luton Scouting also covers the villages of Caddington and Slip End. Within these Groups there are over 2000 boys, girls and adults enjoying an active programme of camping, activities, badge work. If you would like to be part of this success story, this site will enable you to make contact with the Group nearest to you from a map of the town. Lastest Scouting News from LutonVisit our news page to find out about some of the recent events that Luton Scouts have been involved in. 2009 was another exciting year for Luton Scouts and amongst the events was a celebration of Scouting in the town centre on Saturday 4th July. The event - called Luton Scouts in Action - took place in St George's Square in the centre of the town. It was a showcase of activities with members of local scout groups taking part. Among the highlights were a climbing wall, a pioneering project to build a bridge, amateur radio, a video link to scouts in America, South Africa, Gibraltar and India, a canonball run, cooking competitions, entertainment and individual activity zones for scouts, cubs and beavers. Members of the public were able to have a go on the climbing wall as well. Scouting ProfileScouting is a youth organisation which aims to provide young boys and girls with the skills to develop into good citizens of the future. The activities provided by Scouting nurture the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials of the young people.
