FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Luton Scouts website on the moveWebsite moved to new servers as part of ScoutNet UK12th October 1998 -- The Luton Scouts website has today been moved to become part of the ScoutNet UK. It is now located at URL http://www.scoutnet.org.uk/luton and as such has become part of one of the largest websites dedicated to Scouting in the United Kingdom. There is also a new email address luton@dircon.co.uk. The site is hosted by fast servers located at Direct Connection and users can look forward to a much faster response than previously experienced. Direct Connection is one of the largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the UK, with over 30,000 members and have been supplying online services to its customers since 1988 - long before the Internet and World Wide Web entered our general vocabulary. Commenting on the move, Brendan Owen who is webmaster for Luton Scouts said "We are now able to provide a high quality extension to the Public Relations operations of the Luton Scouts. The website allows people who are looking to move to Luton or who already live here the chance to find out about Scouting in their neighbourhood as well as publicising Luton Scouts world-wide."
