FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Public Awareness ExhibitionLuton Scouts stage an exhibition in the Arndale Centre30th October 1999 -- Scouts, Scouters and Commissioners from the town's three Districts took part in the bi-annual PR exhibition held at Luton Arndale Centre. The exhibition lasted four days and was set up by two members of the PR team, Ray Aldous and Peter Sutherst who prepared the laminated photographs, headers and captions that formed the display centre piece of the exhibition. Business was brisk with a number of retired Scouts calling at the stand to renew old acquaintances. During the week a number of enquiries were made from parents who wanted to place their offspring in a suitable local Scout Group. The exhibition achieved its objective which was to attract new leaders. It is hoped that the 100 or so youngsters who made enquiries will join local Groups and the adults who showed interest will come forward as leaders. Hilary Cupit, said, "We were very pleased with the results. In fact, two leaders have already joined Groups - One in Icknield District and the other in Someries District."
