Cheque presented to Keech Cottage Hospice

Scouts District Scouts present a cheque to purchase new equipment

October 2001 -- A cheque for £420 was presented to the Keech Cottage Hospice for the purchase of a bathing aid for sick youngsters. This money was raised almost totally at the Someries District Badge shop, from the sale of commemorative badges to mark the new Millenium.  Throughout the country, Scouts have been raising money for local good causes from the sale of these badges.

650 millennium commemorative scouting badges were sold at Someries District Scout/Badge shop. Half the money from these sales went directly to our nominated charity, Keech Cottage Children's Hospice. The shortfall of cash, for the purchase of the bathing aid, was made up from a donation from Someries District funds.

The presentation of the cheque was made by the District Badge Secretary and her husband!
