FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Luton Scouts in ActionScout's showcase a range of activities in St George's Square12th June 2009 -- Luton Scouts will take over St George's Square in the town centre on 4th July to show off some of the activities that young people in today's scout movement are enjoying in Luton. Organisation for the event has been led by Kam Patel, the District Commissioner for Someries and he says that "this will be an opportunity for the young people in the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to have a fun day and for adults to find out how they can get involved in the action and have fun as well" There will be activity zones for each of the three sections, cooking competitions, a climbing wall, the youth service bus, a pioneering project to build a bridge, an amateur radio station and computer links to other scouts around the world. Throughout the day there will also be heats for the "Canonball Run" race during which teams will be required to build a canon and then race it around the course! The event will start at 10:00am and conclude with a camp fire at 4:30pm Members of the public will be able to try out the climbing wall for a small charge and hot refreshments will also be on sale. We look forward to seeing you on the 4th July!
